New clients can usually be seen within three to five days, sometimes sooner.
I know that the most important factor in successful psychotherapy is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. I work hard at making you feel safe, welcome and understood. My aim is to build a collaborative and trusting relationship with you so we can achieve your goals and make lasting change.
In the first session, I’ll ask you questions about different areas of your life as a way of getting as complete a picture of you as possible. During that session, you’ll have time to talk about the issues or challenges that brought you to therapy.
Each session after that we’ll target your specific challenges. I’ll ask you questions, challenge certain thought patterns you have, offer insights and strategies, and give homework assignments. Your active participation in therapy is critical for success. Much of your progress will be made in between sessions as you practice new skills and strategies.
The first session, or intake session, is 60 minutes. Each session after that is 50 minutes. In the beginning, I meet with clients on a weekly basis, preferably on the same day and time each week. If it’s clinically appropriate, we can eventually move to every other week.
It’s difficult to predict the duration of treatment since it depends on a variety of factors, including the size and scope of your challenges, and your level of commitment. But I will say that the average length of stay for most of my clients is xxxx sessions.
No. I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means that I don’t accept direct reimbursement from insurance companies. I ask clients for payment at the time of service.
Prior to your first counseling session, I suggest you call your insurance company to ask what your deductible and percentage reimbursed is for “out-of-network outpatient psychotherapy”. That way, you understand exactly what your financial commitment will be. For those who’d like to be reimbursed by their insurance company, I can help fill out the proper paperwork and documentation.
An intake session is $200 and all subsequent 50-minute therapy sessions are $150.
I accept personal checks and cash.
I see clients mostly on Saturdays and weekdays after 6pm. I offer in-person and virtual sessions.
If you can’t keep your scheduled appointment, please give me at least 24 hours notice. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your appointment, you will be charged for the full cost of your session. Please note that I make exceptions for true emergencies.
